The village economy is mainly dependent upon two
major crops: rice-paddy and potatoes. However, with high prices of seeds,
fertilizers, pesticides and labor costs, occasional crop failure, together
with no governmental price controls and high costs of cold storage facilities,
the villagers make very little profit. |

A program to produce stable value added solar
dried potato products has been introduced in this potato growing area, to
increase the profit .Similar programs to improve the economy will be
introduced later. |

This includes : training of the interested people
to process sun dried potato products, fabrication of necessary equipments
locally and buying of the dried products from the processors at a set price. |

The products include: Chips, Strings and powder,

can be used to make many convenient food products. |
